The primary purpose of a Pareto Chart is to identify and prioritize the most significant factors contributing to a problem, following the "80/20 rule" (where 80% of problems are often caused by 20% of the causes). By combining a bar chart and a line graph, it visually represents the impact of each factor on the overall issue, enabling decision-makers to focus resources on addressing the most critical problems. Pareto Charts are commonly used in quality management, problem analysis, process improvement, and similar fields. The optimized Pareto Chart now features a line graph and its markers starting at coordinate 0. Additionally, the subsequent markers are positioned at the midpoint of each bar rather than at the center of the bars, making it easier to interpret.
